Preparing your premium turnkey experience
Audit your Android Manifest permissions against the latest Google Play 2026 developer policies. Instantly detect rejection risks, required declaration videos, and prominent disclosure rules.
android.permission.CAMERA
Must show runtime prompt ONLY when user explicitly triggers a camera action (e.g. profile avatar upload or QR scanner). Never request at app startup.
android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION
Must offer user choice of Approximate location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) alongside Fine location. Do not block app usage if user grants only approximate.
android.permission.ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION
CRITICAL 2026 RESTRICTION: Google Play requires an unlisted YouTube video demonstrating the exact core feature that necessitates continuous background tracking. 80%+ apps get rejected here if not ride-sharing/fitness.
android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES
2026 Enforcement: Google mandates Android Photo Picker (`ActivityResultContracts.PickVisualMedia`) for single photo/video picks instead of broad READ_MEDIA permissions. Broad access requires business justification.
android.permission.MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Strict Google Play ban unless your app is a File Manager, Antivirus, or Backup/Restore utility. Media streaming apps (SnapReels/CineVerse) MUST NOT use this permission!
com.android.vending.BILLING
Must use Google Play Billing Library 6.x or 7.x. Any digital goods, coins, or VIP passes sold inside app MUST process through Google Play (no external Stripe links without Alternative Billing authorization in selected regions).
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Android 13+ runtime permission. Do not prompt immediately on first launch; explain notification value (e.g. 'Get notified when new drama episode drops') before triggering dialog.
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK
2025/2026 Strict Rule: You MUST declare exact `android:foregroundServiceType` in manifest (e.g. `mediaPlayback`, `dataSync`). Google Play Console requires a form with video link showing notification player controls in active use.
android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO
Must show privacy policy and explicit indicator when mic is active. Mic cannot be recorded in background without dedicated foreground service type `microphone`.
android.permission.QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES
Strictly prohibited for normal consumer apps. Instead of broad query, declare specific `<queries>` for intents you actually invoke (e.g., `<intent><action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW" /><data android:scheme="https" /></intent>`).
android/app/build.gradle, ensure targetSdkVersion = 34 or 35. Apps targeting API 33 or lower are blocked from updates.Pre-configured with modern API level guards & attributes.
